Make a Mug at Buck's Valley for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join us for a great afternoon of mug making with family and friends and learning a little more about early detection with helpful brochures and giveaways. Plus, enjoy a delicious 2 oz tasting of our Rose´ for Hope — a true Cabernet Franc rose´ of which we give $1 of each bottle sold directly to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition! We will also be offering bottle discounts on the rose´ on this special Sunday day!

Learn to make a cup or a mug from start to finish! You will learn three handbuilding techniques to form your cup. Learn to create the body, finish the foot, and add a handle. Additional techniques will include surface decoration. Choose any decoration you like, including the gorgeous pink ribbon mug as pictured.

When finished, you will pick a glaze for your cup/mug. The cup will be glazed for you and fired and returned to you for you to enjoy! Turnaround time for you to receive your mug will be 6-8 weeks. I will explain more about this the evening of the event.

You will be led through your unique creation by Allee Forlizzi. She will share information on the care of your garden, and how the oils combine to create this unique workshop.

At the workshop, you'll pick 2 mini succulents, 3 fairy garden items, stones, moss, and a slumped green or gold BVW wine bottle of your choice! In addition, you will receive a succulent spray, perfume roller blend, plus a dram of oils to add to your arrangement. Lots of goodies to make this a fun, gorgeous, useful project!

This workshop is only $30 per person. You will be able to pick your accessories during the workshop.

Meditation in the Vines

Meditation is to going beyond the mind and experiencing our essential nature--- peace, happiness and bliss. Who doesn’t want that? Taking time to meditate allows you to focus on your internal world through reflection, deep peace, calm, quiet, and finding your center consciousness within. Then please join us for Meditation in the Vines. Lauren Elizabeth, of Blue Dragonfly Connections, can help you find clarity and quiet in this crazy world.

Please feel free to stay after meditation for a time to participate in Zen coloring and have a yummy lunch!

Cost is $10 per person, and includes a flight of delicious wines of your choice. Please pre-register at the winery to save your spot. In case of rain, meditation will be inside the winery, or back covered porch.

For meditation in the vines, please dress comfortably and bring a mat to lie on. Blankets will work as well if you don’t have a mat!

What is Zen coloring you ask? It is a way for you to relax and let your mind rest, letting the stress of the day wash away. Materials to color will be provided. All you need to do is bring yourself for a great morning of meditation — no artistic skills needed! Order some delicious lunch while coloring — Bucks Valley has tasty wine and yummy food. Cornhole To Benefit American Foundation for Suicide Awareness

This is our 2nd annual fundraiser cornhole tournament to benefit American Foundation for Suicide Awareness.
Our cornhole event will be taking place Saturday, May 18, 2019 and located at Bucks Valley Winery & Vineyards in Newport, PA. Registration will begin promptly at 9:30 am and end at 10:45 am, with bags flying at 11:00 am. This is a rain or shine event.

This year we are changing some things up and offering a more competitive cornhole tournament. Main Tournament entry fee is $40 per team. 2 brackets are being offered: 1 Main Event, and 1 Second Chance Bracket. The brackets will come with payouts being as follows. Main Event: 1st Place: $400; 2nd Place: $200; 3rd Place: $100; 4th Place: $40. Second Chance Bracket payout will be: 1st Place: $40; 2nd Place: $30. Payouts based on 25 teams entered in event.
The fundraiser will remain a round robin format containing 4 teams per group which guarantees a minimum of 5 games no matter which bracket you play in (Main or Second Chance). Top 3 teams from each grouping will move on to compete in their respective double elimination format tournaments with payout given as listed above. Main Event Teams may bring their own bags to use, NO CORN FILLED BAGS ALLOWED. The Second Chance Bracket will be played on winery boards using winery bags.

Following the Main Tournament is a Random Draw Tournament. Entry fee is $10 per person. Payouts will depend on number of teams entered.

No outside food or alcohol please. Bucks Valley Winery has wine, beer, hard cider, wine slushies, and various soft drinks for purchase. The winery also has made-from-scratch, made-to-order pizza, stromboli, calzone, subs, meat/cheese trays, and salads for purchase. Buck’s Valley Winery will donate $1 of each bottle sold of Vanilla Fe (semi-dry red wine), and Chambourcin (sweet red wine) to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The winery has large grassy areas around the events. Please bring chairs and canopies, which you can set up around the perimeter of the lawn.

There will be a soup cook-off, and tasty baked goods for sale by Team Donovan’s Huddle. There will also be 50/50 chance tickets, and a Silent Auction. Funds raised are donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to use towards research and education aimed at suicide prevention.

Music generously donated by Two Shades of Sound, acoustical father/daughter duo of Joseph and Alexia.

This event is being run in conjunction with the Mid-Penn Cornhole organization.

Spring Wreath Workshop

Join us for a fun Thursday Workshop! A great idea for Mother's Day too!

Choose which color scheme you would like to create: 1) Red; 2) Purple; 3) Red & Purple with Red Bow; or 4) Purple and Red with Purple Bow. The Wreath has a solid oak stave used in our wine making process. Each stave has a unique stain created by the particular grapes it was in. You also get to choose, 1 word such as your name ("Loudens"), "Welcome", "Love", etc. This will be done in vinyl lettering.
PLEASE NOTE: THE BOW AT THE TOP OF THE WREATH WILL BE MADE LARGER AT THE WORKSHOP.
