This is our 2nd annual fundraiser cornhole tournament to benefit American Foundation for Suicide Awareness.
Our cornhole event will be taking place Saturday, May 18, 2019 and located at Bucks Valley Winery & Vineyards in Newport, PA. Registration will begin promptly at 9:30 am and end at 10:45 am, with bags flying at 11:00 am. This is a rain or shine event.
This year we are changing some things up and offering a more competitive cornhole tournament. Main Tournament entry fee is $40 per team. 2 brackets are being offered: 1 Main Event, and 1 Second Chance Bracket. The brackets will come with payouts being as follows. Main Event: 1st Place: $400; 2nd Place: $200; 3rd Place: $100; 4th Place: $40. Second Chance Bracket payout will be: 1st Place: $40; 2nd Place: $30. Payouts based on 25 teams entered in event.
The fundraiser will remain a round robin format containing 4 teams per group which guarantees a minimum of 5 games no matter which bracket you play in (Main or Second Chance). Top 3 teams from each grouping will move on to compete in their respective double elimination format tournaments with payout given as listed above. Main Event Teams may bring their own bags to use, NO CORN FILLED BAGS ALLOWED. The Second Chance Bracket will be played on winery boards using winery bags.
Following the Main Tournament is a Random Draw Tournament. Entry fee is $10 per person. Payouts will depend on number of teams entered.
No outside food or alcohol please. Bucks Valley Winery has wine, beer, hard cider, wine slushies, and various soft drinks for purchase. The winery also has made-from-scratch, made-to-order pizza, stromboli, calzone, subs, meat/cheese trays, and salads for purchase. Buck’s Valley Winery will donate $1 of each bottle sold of Vanilla Fe (semi-dry red wine), and Chambourcin (sweet red wine) to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The winery has large grassy areas around the events. Please bring chairs and canopies, which you can set up around the perimeter of the lawn.
There will be a soup cook-off, and tasty baked goods for sale by Team Donovan’s Huddle. There will also be 50/50 chance tickets, and a Silent Auction. Funds raised are donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to use towards research and education aimed at suicide prevention.
Music generously donated by Two Shades of Sound, acoustical father/daughter duo of Joseph and Alexia.
